The Final Reel

by

James Oswald

No-one mourns the death of the Obituary Man, a burglar who targeted the homes of the recently deceased. But the manner of his death - crushed by a falling cast-iron toilet cistern - is odd enough to attract the attention of DI Tony McLean.

The first in a short series of tales featuring Edinburgh-based Detective Inspector Anthony McLean. This one was sparked off by reading a story about African tribes who feared a photograph of them would steal a little piece of their soul.

What then of the movie star, whose life has been chopped up into millions of tiny little photographs, spread wide across the world?
