Have a Heart

The Juke Box must die

The first of what was intended to be an ongoing series of wry observations. Have a Heart is how I felt after hearing 'I will always love you' on the Juke Box for the eleventh time in one evening. I'm sure you'll understand if you've ever been there. They feel, those machines. They think and plot. If you don't believe me, peer through the windows of your local when it's closed. They'll be there, squat and shiny, lights flickering incomprehensible communications to one another across the darkened room. Even if you unplug them, they go on.
